Naples, Florida has been seeing its share of rain lately. With the rains, we enjoy the touches of beauty throughout the neighborhood. We can stroll around by lakeside to enjoy this orchid. We hope everyone is enjoying their summer and staying dry.

Our Clubside ladies had a beautiful Cinderella story kind of a day. They combined a visit to the Naples Garden Club 2017 Flower Show at the Naples Botanical Gardens. As you can see they could not miss out in taking a photo in Cinderella's Coach while they were there.
After their visit they lunched at the new South Avenue Bar & Restaurant at 651 5th Avenue South in lovely downtown Naples. Everything was tasty and satisfied their palates after visiting the Naples Botanical Gardens.
Thanks goes out to Charlene and Susan our Social Directors for coordinating such an enjoyable event.

Clubsider's taxed their brains again for another Trivia Quiz Night in the clubhouse, with a couple of dozen contestants lining up to tackle questions concerning anything from Mona Lisa's eyebrows to Mao Tse-Tung's wart. The final result was a desperately close thing, with reigning champions Elaine and John Howell losing out by a single point to the impromptu team of Paul Matia and Bonnie Butters.

Our picture shows the happy winners with their well deserved prize. There were plenty of laughs as well as some serious quizzing, and everyone agreed to come back for more.
Organizers Sally and Keith Cooper promised to stage another contest when they return to Clubside in the fall, which gives everyone a long summer to swat up on their general knowledge.
Thank you again to the Cooper's for hosting such a fun evening!

Renee was the 2017 Flower Show Chair and had two horticulture entries of her own. She worked around the clock and did a fabulous job accomplishing her mission to foster the appreciation and understanding of horticulture, design and the environment. She had many months of planning, classes and organized workshops to help the Naples Garden Club members prepare for this annual event. With great success Renee did indeed both pull off both a phenomenal and magical "Cinderella" show at the Naples Botanical Garden and brought home two Blue Ribbons in horticulture. Well done Renee!
